project kids table
I told my husband my grandson needed a table but in his own cheap way my husband decided he could find a table on trash day. What he came home with were two pieces of an old plastic shelving unit in a happy yellow color. He was so proud of himself I didn’t have the heart to tell him they seemed to narrow for the job. But upon examining them I realized they would be perfect if they were put together to create the square I had envisioned for a table. Once I taped the legs together I went looking for a vinyl tablecloth to cover the newly created table. What I found was a play mat purchased for a dollar when my grandson was only a month old. The play mat fit perfectly so with double faced tape I secured the mat to the tabletop. All that was needed to complete the set were chairs. My husband solved this problem too by finding two chairs at a local grocery store for only $2.00 each. My grandson now had a nice large table with two chairs for a grand total of five dollars. Of course we can add 2 more chairs to put on the other side and sit 4 if my Grandson ever wishes to invite some friends over.
